Oh my… this healthy granola recipe is the best. It’s great for snacking on in the afternoon instead of junk food. It’s also a wonderfully healthy alternative to processed cereals. Pour some almond milk over a bowl of this and you’ll be in absolute HEAVEN. This recipe appears to be high in fat, but it’s the GOOD fat and none of the bad fats. Your body needs healthy fat and lots of it – they even help you lose weight! Also, when you’re eating WHOLE FOODS exclusively, you don’t really have to count calories. Get your kids hooked on this instead of Trix and Fruit Loops. They’ll love it!

Ingredients
3 cups rolled oats (not instant! that stuff is horrid)
3 tbsp whole wheat flour
1 cup slivered almonds
1 cup dried fruit of choice, unsweetened and chopped (I love apricots!)
1/2 cup 100% pure grade B maple syrup (grade B is much healthier than grade A)
1/3 cup coconut oil
1 tsp almond extract
1 tsp cinnamon
1/8 tsp sea salt
Directions
Preheat oven to 300 degrees F. Blend oats, flour, almonds and fruit together in a large bowl. In a separate bowl, whisk together maple syrup, coconut oil, almond extract, cinnamon and salt. Add liquid mixture to the oat mixture and stir until well coated. Spread on a large cookie sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 1 hour. Turn or stir granola halfway through baking to break up lumps. Cool before serving. Store in an airtight container.
This dounds yummy & similair to the recipe I currently use. I use honey as the sweetner & thickener. Never thought of the dried fruit either.
